When someone says “I am obsessed about food” what does that mean? It likely means they spend the majority of their waking hours thinking about food. And not just thinking, but worrying, fretting and fearing it. “If I eat that I will get fat and if I get fat nobody will love me.” The noise they hear inside their mind is relentless and condemning. “How could you let yourself eat that? Don’t you know how many calories you just ate?!” Each eating occasion heaps on more anxiety and shame, so they start avoiding time with loved ones and dropping things they used to enjoy. They trade that in an effort for mental peace and quiet. But that obnoxious noise in their head doesn’t go away. It is constantly nagging, like a dripping faucet. Drip...drip...drip...drip...drip,,,
